About Sarah
I’m a late-blooming athlete and a survivor. A 40- something wife and mom of two, I have transformed from deconditioned to super-fit over the last several years. A severe accident set the transformation into motion. In 2008 I earned my personal trainer certification through ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine). I also hold an undergraduate degree in Economics from Duke University.
There are numerous effective ways to exercise and I’ve tried most of them. About a year ago I began working out with kettlebells. At the time I had already become pretty strong and fit. Kettlebells helped me get fitter, leaner and stronger than ever before.
I became so enthralled with kettlebells that I became a Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified (HKC) Instructor, opened a kettlebell training studio, and have prepared for the Russian Kettlebell Challenge Instructor certification.
A different strength journey is ahead of me now, though. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on February 12, 2010. Once again I am preparing for a challenge and am ready to add a new meaning to the “strong” in strongsarah. To more closely follow my fight with breast cancer, visit http://strongersarah.com.
