Kettlebell Practice – Monday
I’m making this short and sweet. There’s no other way to follow yesterday’s post.
I’m off track a little, still in recovery mode. I just wanted to do swings today. But then I decided to add some kettlebell snatches. In the end, this was the practice:
- 10 2 Hand Swings
- 10 Single Hand Swings R
- 10 Single Hand Swings L
- :30 Rest
Did that for 10 rounds, 300 swings total.
Then:
- 10 kettlebell snatches R
- 10 kettlebell snatches L
- :30 Rest
Did five rounds, for total of 100 snatches.
To top it off I did 5 windmills on each side.
Tomorrow will be the Lower Body workout (Brutal.) Ugh.

Now that is amazing progress!
Sarah, you notice I didn’t mention what size bell I used, LOL! Hint: NOT the 16! or the 12! or the 10! Ok you get the picture.
The snatches were still pretty rough, but I’m getting there. I’m ready for Elise to shape me up again.

I would think that 300 swings and 100 snatches of ANY weight would be tough! Very impressive, m’dear! Add in the fact that you’re still getting over being under the weather and as Neo said: “whoa”. (Love The Matrix trilogy!)
One of these days…me and kettlebells…can ya feel it?

Great job! Weight is not important; technique is. It’s impossible to master a movement pattern when you’re struggling with a weight that’s too heavy.
Very true, Laura. I hate seeing others struggle to lift a weight that’s too much for them. Their form goes, and the risk of injury skyrockets.
For me right now, the 8kg or the 10kg is about all I want to try with snatches. I’d rather be able to do more practice, and try to refine the technique at this point.
I should have made it clear in my original post what I was using. After reading others’ comments I feared that it sounded like I had already jumped ahead to a heavier bell. FAR FROM IT!!! And it will be a while!!
But I am OK with that. I’m enjoying the climb!!
